The learning analytics option is probably helpful to some programs, but in my program there is mostly research and writing papers so simply seeing what others have accessed the most isn't really beneficial. It is hard to remember which parts of the module I have or haven't accessed. | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 2

I feel like everything is on different pages and I am constantly going back and for to find the information to complete my work. Its really hard to keep things organized and I constantly have to make a road map to follow so I know where to go back to when I click a link and it takes me to a different area of canvas. This class has been more difficult to follow then others I have completed.

I would like to see some of the readings supplemented with videos, smaller articles/case studies or voice over PPT. I feel as if I am skimming most of the time and not really taking everything in just to be sure that I get to everything in time, whereas if it was a mix of formats then I feel there would be more opportunity to actually understand the material thoroughly.

There are too many links in each page of the module that add confusion having to keep navigating back and forth. Particularly because there are many broken links and there are many different places that explain assignments and the info is often inconsistent or partial. The weeks that assignments are supposed to be due in the module sometimes don’t match the calendar. There was a problem getting peer reviews. There is much opportunity for improvement In flow and clarity. The vigilance necessary to make sure one is not missing something feels wrong. We just took a quiz that says it is ungraded and it turned out to be graded. The rubric for an oral voice threads include expectations for written remarks. | Yes | 3 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 2 | C I think Dr Medvec is very amiable, available, and responsive to questions. I don’t think there is adequate attention to the organization of the canvas course and how important clarity is to our learning experience. I think there is a “just come and ask me about it” mentality instead of “I’ll fix the root cause” mentality. This could be an opportunity to fix an area of waste in the operation of this class. | 1 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 3 | - | 3 | - | - | 3 | 3 | C Laptop computer | C Search Google, YouTube, or another online source,Figure it out on my own | 1 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2

She also records them for those that cannot attend. I have attended about half of them live and then watched the recordings of the ones I was not able to attend. She is also dedicated to helping her students succeed as students and professionals. She has made adjustments to course materials and requirements based on feedback without taking away the rigor of the course. This has been my favorite class to date and despite the rigor of it, I find meaning behind it and am able to apply the knowledge professionally.

It is very hard to keep everything straight since the modules gloss over the assignments, but you really need to look in an entirely different area to get information about the assignments. There are too many places that you need to click to make sure you have all of the needed information. I've learned a lot in this course, but the organization of it is really rather stressful and counterproductive.

The information is directly applicable to my current work and is helping me understand and learn better ways to excel at it. My only issue is with the group work. It is challenging to perform in groups remotely. I found last semester, and it continues this semester, that how the groups interact and when depends on who steps up first. Right now, I have 13 different apps and communication tools being used by three different groups in three classes. I have no idea where to go, for what, and when. Perhaps there can be stricter direction as to what the groups are using to interact and when. For example, a Zoom to begin the conversation. Then specifically a Google doc or the Canvas discussion board for collaboration. Or a When2meet to decide on the best time for Zoom. There are so many different conversations going on right now for the three groups, I have no idea where to get my information from and work through. Additionally, we seem to spend more time discussing how to proceed and on what modality than actually collaborating.

Student: 6Dr. Medvec is very responsive and present. Her weekly video announcements are really helpful to remain on track and the open office hours that she holds every week are SO helpful for both building relationships with classmates and gaining a better understanding of the material. She's responsive to emails and questions as well.
Student: 10I think Dr Medvec is very amiable, available, and responsive to questions. I don’t think there is adequate attention to the organization of the canvas course and how important clarity is to our learning experience. I think there is a “just come and ask me about it” mentality instead of “I’ll fix the root cause” mentality. This could be an opportunity to fix an area of waste in the operation of this class.
Student: 11The professor offers weekly office hours via Zoom (every Wed., 7pm est) which has been invaluable and promotes a sense of community with this course. She also records them for those that cannot attend. I have attended about half of them live and then watched the recordings of the ones I was not able to attend. Either way, questions I had were answered and discussed which provided clarification of the materials and assignments.
Student: 17As previously stated, value the office hours! Helpful knowing there is always a scheduled time when my questions will be answered.
Student: 19The video updates are great!
Student: 20I’m starting a business this semester within my nursing profession and my family tried to be there, but my biggest support was Dr. Medvec and this class.
Student: 21Dr. Medvec is extremely helpful, approachable, and detailed in her expectations for this course. She is responsive to questions and prompt in email responses. Her open office hours are incredibly helpful, especially as a first semester student. I have enjoyed course material and her canvas site is easy to navigate. I appreciate her clear explanation of coursework and assignments including deadlines.
Student: 25One challenge has been that some resources live in different areas within canvas than might be expected. It would be nice to have all resources for an assignment to live within the assignment page of canvas. Modules are hard to link with dates and I have struggled at times to keep up.

Technology Enhancement Comments
Student: 1It would be SO helpful to be able to check off modules and their sections as I am going through the course. The learning analytics option is probably helpful to some programs, but in my program there is mostly research and writing papers so simply seeing what others have accessed the most isn't really beneficial. It is hard to remember which parts of the module I have or haven't accessed.
Student: 2Make things more accessible on tablets, iPad, or even phones. Sometimes i want to be able to work on my stuff when I get a break at work. Its not convenient to pull out my laptop. It would be nice if all features worked on my iPad that also has internet service.
Student: 3More consistency across courses on how the modules labeled/divided.
Student: 4I don't think there is one thing I could do with technology to enhance my success. It has been a long time since I was a student in undergrad and things have changed a lot. I have been able to navigate my way through Canvas and use the technology recommended for the course with minimal problems and I have been very happy so far.
Student: 5Add a checklist to the Canvas smartphone app!
Student: 8have as many options available on mobile devices as there is on my laptop
Student: 9Weekly modules instead of the 5. It can be hard to navigate.
Student: 11A quick link to UMich Library within Canvas would be helpful. Currently I have to open another tab to open Wolverine Access to get to the library.
Student: 12I would like canvass to allow you to mark off something when you've completed it. I have trouble remembering which items I have visited.
Student: 15unsure
Student: 16Have a secure platform for video chat and messaging for group work for mobile devices instead of email/zoom.
Student: 17I wish Canvas would have something to indicate which modules we have completed.
Student: 18Streamline communication between students
Student: 19Sometimes with canvas the content feels like it’s in separate silos and I have to hunt for things. The summaries for each week were helpful to sometimes double check I had found everything .

Student: 27Important the canvas calendars into iCal on my iPhone
Additional Comments
Student: 2I find that the course setup is really hard to follow at times.
Student: 4I have really enjoyed this course so far. I have made some wonderful friends already and Dr. Medvec has been extremely responsive and engaging.
Student: 5As a student who is balancing grad school and full time employment as well as small children during a pandemic, any and all material that can be audio (so I can listen in my car during my work commute) is STRONGLY preferred.
Student: 7I feel this course has too much reading involved when taken in conjunction with other courses.
Student: 11Our professor is very engaging and passionate about her subject which makes a big difference. She is also dedicated to helping her students succeed as students and professionals. She has made adjustments to course materials and requirements based on feedback without taking away the rigor of the course. This has been my favorite class to date and despite the rigor of it, I find meaning behind it and am able to apply the knowledge professionally.
Student: 12This course is organized in a very confusing manner.
Student: 13Overall, I have enjoyed this course the most so far.

Student: 16I feel that the turn around times for grades are extremely excessive and make it difficult to know where you stand in the course.
Student: 20Reading the scanned materials in the small area provided is distracting and difficult. If it’s over a page or two, I have to print it out.
Student: 22Great teacher + course, but I feel the readings can be a bit excessive at times in some weeks. I really enjoy how the canvas modules are set up weekly, and instructions are very detailed.
Student: 24Great class! Very applicable and impactful

Engagement Comments
Student: 10The flow of the modules is disorganized and frustrating.
Student: 17Very much appreciate the VoiceThread discussions versus traditional discussion posts. Also value the office hours and that they’re recorded.
Student: 18While I feel comfortable working with my classmates and enjoy getting to know them, our work schedules make it difficult to coordinate times to meet. Another thing that has comes up is the many ways to communicate, through CANVAS, email, and discussions, finding out where to find people can be time consuming and confusing. Maybe a standard communication avenue would make things easier? Overall great class and very clear structure!
Student: 20My study group has been such a strong support for me, and my professors have been approachable and understanding, especially during the pandemic.
