I do enjoy the concept of this class and find the content valuable. Dr Rosenberg is very knowledgeable and responsive to questions and concerns. That said, this course is a lot of work for a 2 credit class. One thing I appreciate most about this program in general is the flexibility, but that does not exist with this class because of the sheer volume of weekly assignments including group work. I understand that participation can be challenging to grade in a completely remote class like this, but this is just too much. I do appreciate the group work, I just wish it was spread out a bit more, or not combined with several other assignments due during the same time frame. I also know that professors are trying to experiment with new technologies/learning platforms, but I personally do not find the wakelet assignments helpful. I think the same concept could be accomplished in a discussion post or something similar that does not require a login to an additional site that I likely will not use after the class ends. Again, great content, valuable assignments, just too many of them. I find myself skipping over readings and videos just to get to the things that are absolutely required for the week since they take so much time. |

Dr. Rosemberg is very responsive to emails and student concerns. However, this class has too much group work. It is hard to balance 3 classes, work, and other's schedules. This was the first class in the program that had us do so many zooms to discuss our readings/projects/assigments. The class load was high in this class for a 2 credit class. Dr. Rosemberg was responsive and decreased some assignments. |

Using wakelet is not beneficial for our learning. I feel like it is supposed to be a place for web-based articles, not a whole assignment. It takes a lot of time to complete the assignments. The workload is very heavy for this course. I do like the interactive activities in the weekly modules. I learn a lot from them. Doing multiple "presentations" on the same topic was new for this semester. The professor has taken student's recommendations and started to decrease the weekly workload. This class takes the most hours of my week. It is hard to coordinate a large amount of time to work with our "workgroup." It is also difficult to know if you are doing well on the "not graded" portions of this class. I feel unsure if my work on all the un-graded activities and assignments is satisfactory or not. |

I feel that there is a lot of 'busy work' involved with this course that takes away time that I could be spending on my other courses. I spend more time on this 2 hour credit class than I do my 3 hour credit class. I also wish it was more clear which grades are actually counted towards my final grade. It's unclear if the 'ungraded' assignments actually count towards my final grade or not. I also wish I could see my grades so I knew where I stood in the course. Finally, the amount of conference calls that ae required between group members is too much. I understand meeting maybe once a week but due to my schedule (and others), it is hard to find a time that works for everyone. I chose this program for the ability to work at my own pace and complete assignments on my own time (due to work schedule and life outside of school). It is hard to coordinate meetings with classmates working night shift, in different states, etc. |
